ANSHS reaps awards in science, math and research competitions

 

IN THE recently held regional and division competitions in science, mathematics, and research, Alabel National Science High School students emerged as champions.

The research team composed Catherine Dominique Andales, Kareen Joy Amlon, and Eune John Joshua Butil champed in the Intel Philippines Science Fair-Regional Competion, while amother research conducted by Kristoffer Asetre and Arrianne Luis Agulan won as first runner-up in the Regional ASEP, both held in General Santos City.

Both teams were coached by Shiela Butil and Dexter Necor.

In the 2009 Regional Mathematics Olympics held in Esperanza, Isulan Kudarat, the team quizzers for first year, second, and third year levels were all declared champions.

First year quizzers Irish Pearl Carman, John Lord Saloria, and Trent Laurence Galvez; second year quizzers Jewelle Mae Solijon, Hanna Suganob, and Maria Karen Jeane Pliego; and third year quizzers Jorge Alberto Ilejay, Mifflin-Rae Calvero, and Maria Karina Degoma topped their respective categories.

They were coached by Jojet Cordero, Jasper Santos, and Margie Quimosing.

Meanwhile, Christine Joy Medida outranked the quizzers in Sarangani in the Division Elimination of the 30th National Super Quiz Bee Science and Technology category.

She was coached by Ariel Lalisan and will represent Sarangani in the Regional elimination in December.
