ANSHS is Sarangani’s Best Performing School

 

FROM AMONG the 21 public high schools in Sarangani Province, Alabel National Science High School has been recognized as the Best Performing School in the province.

The Best Performing School was selected based on the test results of the National Achievement Test (NAT) and National Career Assessment Examination (NCAE) in the last three years, improvement of school facilities, character and competence of faculty, and community involvement, among others.

School principal Carmencita A. Kuaya received the plaque of recognition and a cash prize of Php 10, 000 during the Search for Outstanding Sarangan Awards Night, November 27 at the Provincial Gymnasium.

The award was given as part of the celebration of Sarangani’s 17th Foundation Anniversary and MunaTo Festival 2009.

ANSHS reaps awards in science, math and research competitions

 

IN THE recently held regional and division competitions in science, mathematics, and research, Alabel National Science High School students emerged as champions.

The research team composed Catherine Dominique Andales, Kareen Joy Amlon, and Eune John Joshua Butil champed in the Intel Philippines Science Fair-Regional Competion, while amother research conducted by Kristoffer Asetre and Arrianne Luis Agulan won as first runner-up in the Regional ASEP, both held in General Santos City.

Both teams were coached by Shiela Butil and Dexter Necor.

In the 2009 Regional Mathematics Olympics held in Esperanza, Isulan Kudarat, the team quizzers for first year, second, and third year levels were all declared champions.

First year quizzers Irish Pearl Carman, John Lord Saloria, and Trent Laurence Galvez; second year quizzers Jewelle Mae Solijon, Hanna Suganob, and Maria Karen Jeane Pliego; and third year quizzers Jorge Alberto Ilejay, Mifflin-Rae Calvero, and Maria Karina Degoma topped their respective categories.

They were coached by Jojet Cordero, Jasper Santos, and Margie Quimosing.

Meanwhile, Christine Joy Medida outranked the quizzers in Sarangani in the Division Elimination of the 30th National Super Quiz Bee Science and Technology category.

She was coached by Ariel Lalisan and will represent Sarangani in the Regional elimination in December.

Entrance Exam for SY 2010-2011 slated

ALABEL NATIONAL Science High School announces the Entrance Examination for School Year 2010-2011.

The ANSHS Entrance Examination is a two-phase screening process: 1) Written Examination and 2) Oral Examination.

The First Phase is scheduled on December 12, 2009 at the ANSHS Campus.

Only the top 200 in the written examination will quality for the Second Phase, which will be held on January 7-9, 2010.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

1. The examination is open for Grade VI pupils who:

  • belong to the upper 10% of the graduating class
  • have no grades lower than 85% in English, Science, and Mathematics  and not lower than 83% in other subjects in the 1st and 2nd Grading Periods
  • possess good moral character
  • are not more than 15 years of age by June 2010

2. The following must be submitted not later than November 30, 2009:

  • duly accomplished application form
  • Photocopy of Form 138-E/ School Report Card, showing grades as of the 1st and 2nd grading periods
  • Php 100.00 as testing fee
