Dir. Almeda praises ANSHS for scoring high in the 2009 National Achievement Test

 

IN HER speech during the 16th  Anniversary of DepEd Sarangani, August 8, 2009, Regional Director Luz S. Almeda, praised Alabel National Science High for garnering a high Mean Percentage Score (MPS) in the 2009 National Achievement Test.

“Two years ago, I challenged Mrs. Kuaya…now, her school, Alabel National Science High School, probably has the highest MPS in the region,” says Almeda.

In the 2009 NAT, ANSHS got an MPS of 83.53%, which is 8.65% higher than than the previous MPS.

ANSHS currently tops the list of secondary schools in Sarangani Province, which took the NAT, and it  still waiting for the official ranking for Region XII.

Carmencita A. Kuaya, the school principal, believes that the improved performance in the NAT resulted from the concerted effort of the teachers and the school administrator in improving the quality of classroom instruction and instructional facilities and in providing the students with necessary learning intervention programs to enhance their learning.

The NAT is an annual test administered to second year high school student to measure their proficiency in Science, Mathematics, English, Filipino, and Araling Panlipunan.
